I'm Elisa R., the breeder behind Crownrose Cavaliers located in Southport, NC. Our dogs are bred for health, temperament, and conformation. We strive to produce beautiful and versatile beloved companions, and we focus on curly coats and dry eyes. We care about the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel breed and do everything in our power to breed sound dogs to ensure healthy and happy puppies. Our puppies’ health and wellbeing is our main priority.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    We wanted to do our part to better the breed. Our breeding program strives to maintain the unique characteristics of the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel while placing an emphasis on health testing and responsible breeding. We are passionate about these dogs and have built that love and respect for the breed into every aspect of our program.
  • What makes your program special?

    Crownrose Cavaliers is committed to only breeding dogs that meet the strict guidelines for quality that we have deemed appropriate to improving this wonderful breed. We take great care with each breeding to ensure we are producing puppies that are excellent representations of the breed. We love what we do and truly want the very best for our puppies and their forever families.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies are blenheim. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Breeder-Reported Testing

  • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
