Dancing M Australian Shepherds

🐾 We’re 10 weeks old! So… what should you expect? 🐾 Can you believe our babies are almost 10 weeks old?! 🥹♥️ Most of our Dancing M puppies headed home around 8 weeks, which means you’ve officially had about two weeks of puppy life under your belt! By now, everyone is probably starting to settle into a routine, and those little personalities are REALLY starting to come out. 😂 So what’s normal at 10 weeks? 🐶 Potty training is still a work in progress! Some puppies may be catching on really quickly, while others are still having accidents. Both are completely normal. Keep the routine consistent, celebrate the wins and don’t stress over the occasional puddle. 🦈 The land-shark phase is probably making an appearance. Those puppy teeth are SHARP! Biting, chewing and putting absolutely everything in their mouths is normal puppy behavior. Keep plenty of appropriate toys and chews handy and redirect, redirect, redirect! 😴 They still need LOTS of sleep. If your sweet puppy suddenly turns into a tiny four-legged monster… there’s a pretty good chance they’re overtired. 😂 Puppies need a surprising amount of sleep at this age. 🧠 Those Aussie brains are ready to WORK! Keep training sessions short, positive and fun. Their name, recall, sit, leash manners, crate training and handling their feet, ears and mouth are all great things to practice right now. 🌎 Keep introducing them to the world. Different sounds, surfaces, people, car rides, grooming, household noises and new experiences can all help build confidence. Just remember that they’re still young and may not have completed their vaccination series yet, so be thoughtful about where you take them and what dogs they’re exposed to. ♥️ And don’t worry if your puppy isn’t exactly like their littermates! Some are fearless little explorers, some want to think about things first, some learn potty training quickly, and others take a little longer. They’re individuals, and they’re all growing at their own pace. Most importantly, have fun with them. Take the pictures. Laugh at the zoomies. Work through the naughty moments. Celebrate the little wins. One day you’re picking up your tiny 8-week-old puppy, and somehow you blink and they’re grown.
