Meet the breeder

I'm Stacey S., the breeder behind Dappled Danes located in Hutchinson, KS. We work hard to produce healthy, well-rounded Great Dane puppies that will make others as happy as our dogs have made us! We breed to preserve the unique characteristics of this breed while considering a variety of traits, including health, conformation, and temperament. We emphasize the proper socialization and training of our puppies, and we strive to promote responsible dog ownership.

Q. & A. with Stacey

  • Why did you start breeding?

I got in to breeding completely by accident. I was very naive about Great Danes in general i had a male and wanted a female, did not know that girls could go in to heat at such a young age and ended up with my very first accidental litter. It was a lot of very hard work, but i enjoyed every second of it
  • What makes your program special?

My Danes are all raised in my home, not in a building, not in a barn or a shed, but in my home, where they are all very much loved and adored, my Danes are all bred for personality conformation and then color.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Great Dane puppies include silver, black and white, blue and white, chocolate brindle, chocolate, brindle, fawn, blue, harlequin, and merle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Stacey was amazing from the start. She sent me a video of the puppy I was interested in. Then she was helpful at arranging meeting up to get our new baby boy. Bruiser has the sweetest personality. He is definitely a gentle giant.

I picked up George (now Leo) in October from Stacey. She truly pours her heart into her dogs, and it shows in every way. At only 5 months old, Leo is incredibly smart with the most amazing, gentle temperament—everything I hoped for and more. By four months old, Leo was fully potty trained and already knew all basic commands, which speaks volumes about the early foundation, socialization, and care Stacey provides. He goes to daycare and interacts with dogs of all sizes, chickens, goats, and cats. He also loves people, children especially. Next month, we’re beginning therapy training, and I have no doubt Leo will thrive. I am so grateful for Stacey’s dedication, knowledge, and love for the breed, and I would wholeheartedly recommend Dappled Danes to anyone looking for a truly exceptional Great Dane.

George is doing great. Evie loves playing with him. We've had to work with her and being gentle, but she loves him. George loves playing with the big dogs.

Dapples Danes clearly took great care of Andy (Now Napoleon). He is extremely sweet, loving to all animals and people, not scared of anything, and in great health. He was clean and happy when we got him and they drove him out 1,300 miles to us. We are thrilled to have this perfect baby in our family. They did a great job socializing him! He didn't flinch at our 110 lb XL American Bully! Thank you! Merry Christmas!

I found my dream dog with Stacey. She was so easy to work with and responded quickly. I even received videos of him when he was on his way, which I was very appreciative of. I definitely recommend using Stacey. It was a great experience and I’m so happy with our pup!
