TEDDY & FAMILY CHECHED IN WITH HOME BASE @ DIAMOND K CORGIS FROM KEYSTONE, SD: "Sharon and Kelsey..just wanted to share a message I just received from our Airbnb guest who was leaving today. She said her 5 year old son looked up at her with tears in his eyes and said “I’m just not ready to leave this place. Will I ever see Teddy again?” I let her know where she can find a Teddy of her own! I can’t tell you how much joy he brings our guests. When I’m drinking my coffee in the morning I hear the kids come out and immediately start calling for him. When our German Shepherd is no longer with us I will be heading your way for a corgi buddy for Teddy! Keep up the good work raising incredible dogs!" TEDDY THE HERDING BALL KING: "Yes… he can’t get enough of the ball…which makes kids really happy because he is always up for playing soccer with them!" Hi from remote Alaska! I wanted to give you an update on my little Benny. Since I got him from you in Feb, he has become quite the impressive pup, and once again your bloodlines have astounded us in how wonderful of a dog he is....From the very beginning he showed himself to be so incredibly smart. Scary smart, in fact. He was completing Level 5 doggie puzzles within a few weeks! And he learned sit and down within the first week of me getting him. (Sit was the first day, actually!) And he also knows high five, roll over, and the sound of anyone in the kitchen lol. Potty training was hard because the temperatures stayed colder than -35 below into March, but he did pick that up quickly once the weather warmed up. Now for the three things that have impressed the entire family: first of all, he has the absolute most loving nature. Benny's sweet disposition, friendly demeanor, and all around gentle (if not hyper!) attitude instantly had everyone person and every other pet absolutely in love with him from the beginning. By the way, the cat is his very best friend and those two can really wrestle! Everyone loves Benny to pieces. I often get vidoes of him laying in Mom or Dad's lap, getting belly scratches and sharing their food lol. The adult kids love his bubbly but good natured and fun personality...and everyone loves to watch him have the zoomies. Also, he is fascinated with little birdies. I had to put up bird feeders on the deck so he could watch them! He never tries to catch them- he just loves watching them flit around. Mom has been battling cancer since last year and has more bad days than good. Benny knows when she is having a bad day because he will lay on the recliner with her and not leave her side, not even when Dad has food. And it gives mom such great comfort to have Benny lay with her. When I bring Benny to their home to visit, he jumps at the front door, eager for me to open it. Mom's recliner is across the living room, a straight line from the front door and the second that door opens, Ben runs as fast as his lil legs will carry and catapults himself, superman style, straight onto Mom's chest and gives her so many kisses. Before he greets anyone else, he does this with mom and you should see the beaming smile on her face :) And lastly, Benny has proven himself to be one heck of a guard dog. As I live alone, remote, and in a very high bear-traffic area, I have gotten alot of bears through my property (and at the cabin) so far. Benny smells them, or alerts me to noise, and is always on high alert when he picks up their scent. He knows not to bark at every noise (like a squirrel on the deck above our bedroom), but when a bear is in the immediate area, he will do little quiet barks. Last week, we were on the four wheeler going home from Mom and Dad's (he rides a wheeler really well!!!) when two large black bears were in the middle of the trail and didn't move when they saw us. Benny saw them, but I don't think he smelled them. I turned around and went back to Mom and Dad's to grab an escort up to my cabin, and on our way back to my home, we saw the bears again- this time headed towards my cabin on the trail. We got close enough that they ran up the mountainside, right on the backside of my cabin. Now Benny smelled them, and he of course saw them- so now he saw exactly what that smell was and boy did he start barking at them as they ran up. Fast forward to about 15 minutes after we got home- I was in the kitchen and Benny was on the deck when all of a sudden he starts barking like crazy and howling!!! Those two bears were on my driveway, and Benny saw them. They did eventually leave the area, but I was so impressed with how brave Benny was! I'm sorry this was so long, but I hope Benny's tails from wild Alaska brought a smile to your face, just like he does to us all the time. That dog is the best companion, the best entertainment, and the best protector. When I return to work every week after my week off, so many people ask me to see videos or hear stories about Benny from the week off. He is famous even there....and everyone, family, friends, coworkers alike...have all said what an incredibly special dog he is. Once again, thank you for what you do and for such an incredible line of dogs you have. Each dog I have gotten from you have gone so far above expectations. Whenever it is time for another dog, I will always get him from you because I am convinced that no better dogs are out there. You guys have done something truly amazing. Thank you so very much for Benny. I would love for Benny's story and pictures to be shared! He is such a special little guy.. And I said that about the last dog I got from you, who was my soul dog.. Benny is a whole different caliber though and I would love to share his story with all of your followers because not only did you breed a really awesome litter but I mean come on.. remote Alaska? Bears? Four Wheeler rides and adventure? Benny's story should be shared lol And it's only just beginning. I'm glad I could bring a smile to you guys but I just wanted to make sure you knew what an amazing dog you gave me. I asked you for a black-headed tri male and he was the only one in the litter. So even without knowing anything about him I said I'll take him because clearly he was meant to be mine. He was sent for me but it wasn't until these past few months that I've had him that he wasn't just sent for.. He was sent for my whole family because he is that incredible of a dog. When I'm away at work Mom and Dad watch him obviously and Mom has never in her life let a dog sleep in bed with them. And now? She can't imagine a bedtime routine without him, and Benny sleeps between the two of them at night in bed lol He has worked miracles for my family when they needed something that we didn't even know.. turned out it was Benny.

BINDI CHECKSBIN WITH HOME BASE @ DIAMOND K CORGIS, FROM MANDAN, NORTH DAKOTA ! "We have had so much fun with Bindi these past few months and she has been keeping us on our toes. She loves learning new tricks and has been very easy to train. Now that she is fully vaccinated, we have been enjoying going for short walks and scent walks with her. That is when mother nature isn't throwing curve ball blizzards at us! Bindi had lots of fun playing in all the snow that we got over Easter weekend. This week we entered the start of the teething phase. Her favorite teething toys are currently our hands/fingers, teething rings, and teething bones. In that order! But she has been learning that curling up in our lap at the end of the day to watch TV is pretty nice too. She's also very observant and likes to spend time outside just to see what the rest of the world is up to. Overall, we are so impressed with her. Between how smart she is, how great her temperament is, and how much she loves meeting new people and dogs, she is perfect. We are so glad that she is a member of our family".

About Gabby
Gabriella, Gabby, is officially retired from breeding, and living the good life at Diamond K Corgis. Her bloodline has become well-known by fans of Diamond K Corgis for producing especially sweet and loving offspring with tons of personality. Maria is a daughter from her that is currently rearing new litters, and Ava is a granddaughter that we hope to one day bring on as Gabby’s replacement. Gabby was our first red and white corgi, and launched us into expanding into red and white / fawn colors, as well as sable colors.

About Ava
Ava is a younger member of the Diamond K Corgi family. She’s a daughter to Maria, and granddaughter to our retired dam, Gabby. A lighter colored Fawn color, she’s also a daughter to our newest stud, Raylan. We like to kid that we didn’t pick Ava, she picked us. And just as our Gabby and Maria bloodline is known to be, she super sweet and loving. Curling up on the couch is one of her favorite things, but if we happen to be outside, fetch is the best thing since sticks were invented! And that just goes to show how strong the Gus bloodline is in her, he’s her great-grandpa!

About Raven
Raven was born on October 31st, 2019, so of course she had to have a Halloween themed name! Raven is a super sweet and loving black-head tricolor. She weighs around 18 to 19 pounds, and has raised some wonderful litters for us. She was sired by our stud, Jake, and carries on great traditions from our Gus and Jake bloodline. She is a quiet, but incredibly affectionate female. Her greatest ambition in life is to be held in your arms like a baby. You can see the smile spread on her face when you hold her that way.

About Nona
Winona, Nona, is our youngest black-headed tricolor female in the Diamond K Corgi family as a breeding age female. She is triple clear on DNA testing. She is a full sibling to our stud, Shad. She’s a mischievous, but loving addition to the family. Nona is also a granddaughter of our past stud, Call. She is a quiet, but affectionate and intelligent mother.

About Matty
Matty is a redheaded tricolor corgi we brought in from another breeder. She is triple clear on DNA testing. She’s got the traditional “fairy saddle” markings of the Welsh Corgi tricolor. She’s an energetic dog in a small package, weighing around 19 to 21 pounds. She is our only redheaded tricolor female at this time. She is a wonderful mother, and loves playing with her pups.

About Shad
Shadrach, Shad, is a grandson of Call that we kept back for the next generation of our breeding program. He was born June 23rd, 2021. He was born from a litter by an affiliate breeder near Lusk, Wyoming, and his dam went back to our own foundation stud, Gus. He is not quite as big-boned as his grandsire was, but mixes the bloodlines of Gus and Call perfectly into the small package we breed for. He weighs in around 22 to 23 pounds. Along with the small package, the mixture of bloodlines brings the laid-back temperament of Call with the working drive of Gus.

About Jake
He is a son of my original stud dog, Gus. He’s a trim, athletic build, and boasts a beautiful, full white collar. Like Gus was, he’s in the low 20 pound range, and like both of his parents, very affectionate, and eager to please. He’s shown the great herding instincts of his father as well. He is soon to retire.

About Raylan
He is an incredible smart dog. Not only does he know how to climb out of his kennel, if you forget the added bungee on the gate, he can open it in about 5 seconds flat! He's well muscled, and a small, balanced size.

Our Experience with Kelsey: Bringing Rook Home Working with Kelsey was an absolute breeze from start to finish. When we were first looking for a new family member, she was incredibly flexible with our schedule, making it easy to find a time to visit. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely welcomed; there was zero pressure to make a snap decision, which allowed us to truly connect with the puppies and ensure it was the right fit. Once we decided that Rook (formerly known as "Hot Lips") was the one, the adoption process was seamless and simple. Even now, Kelsey continues to check in periodically just to see how Rook is doing, which shows how much she truly cares about the dogs she places. From "Hot Lips" to Rook: Finding Her True Self Rook is now 7 months old and such a joy! When we first met her, she was a bit timid and shy, but it didn’t take long for her "true self" to shine through. Today, she is: Full of life and energy: She loves to play with everyone—our older corgi, Zivah, my husband, or even just entertaining herself! Adventurous: She loves being outside and has officially mastered the dog door, giving her the freedom to roam the yard whenever she pleases. A total sweetheart: She’s a wonderful cuddler (on her own terms, of course!). We couldn't be happier with our experience. If you’re looking for a breeder who is supportive, professional, and produces well-adjusted, happy dogs, we cannot recommend Kelsey enough!
