  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Patellar Luxation

Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

Heather was an absolute joy to work with. Didn't matter what time of night it was, if we asked for new pics of our boy, she obliged. Very friendly and process was quick and simple.

Heather was great! She was very responsive and communicative. I had to delay picking up our puppy because of a death in the family and she was incredibly understanding and patient about that. The vet said Nova was very healthy, and we can also say that she’s incredibly smart and sweet as well.

We got our sweet Holly from Heather last year and are so very happy that we did. Holly is a beautiful and healthy cocker spaniel that is smart, good-natured and playful. She loves people and gets along well with other dogs. Heather makes the process very easy and is always available to answer any questions.

We had an excellent experience with Heather in getting our little boy. She kept us updated, informed and up to date with pictures throughout the process. She was incredibly accommodating allowing me to pick up a week late due to my travel schedule that week. She genuinely cares not just about her dogs, but also the families that they go home to. Thanks to her bringing our puppy home was an easy and enjoyable experience. Would highly recommend.

My experience with Heather from Down in the Holler and Good Dog couldn’t have been any better. I got two of her beauties ( the best two, I might say) “kidding” they were all beauties and I can honestly say that because I saw all of them 💕 The process was so easy and Heather was very responsive to my many, many emails. She even did FaceTime with me so I could see my babies live! Who does that, only someone who is proud of her babies and cares about where they are going. The babies are raised in a family environment and nurtured by Heather and her children. They have the best personalities ever! I know I’m gushing, but honestly this was the BEST experience ever. Meeting Heather and her daughters for pickup of my babies was one of the best days of my life and am proud to call her a great friend 💕
