Q. & A. with Annette
Why did you start breeding?
Raised & showed livestock as a farm kid growing up & after getting my 1st Show cocker back in 1991 and after showing a few years I decided I wanted to be a preservation Breeder and positively contribute to this breed I love!
What makes your program special?
I whelp my litters in my guest bedroom where I slept near the whelping box with this litter for the first 30 days, making sure everybody was fed every 2 to 3 hours and that mom was doing well. They're moved to my kitchen at around 4 -5 wks where they are exposed to all kinds of sights and sounds & people. They have wobble boards, preschool slides. Noisemaker toys, leapfrog, educational children toys, they are stimulated with mobiles over their play area. I do early stimulation on them. They get groomed weekly. I handle them from birth. I trim toenailles, weekly. They're introduced to the grooming table at 3 weeks & Get haircuts with the clippers. They have been groomed weekly by the time you get them and they stand to be dried with the hair dryer without issues. They are puppies, so they are still wiggly. With the noise and tactile stimulation does not bother them. Once they have their first vaccine at 8 weeks, they are introduced to my playyard outside where they feel grass and concrete and have play tunnels. They have shade and water during the time. They're outside and I supervise them the entire time. They play with their mother inside and outside my home. They're introduced to sirens, fireworks and thunderstorms. And I must say, the fourth of july fireworks, nor the severe thunderstorms bothered them. I make sure to do everything I can to deliver. A healthy well-adjusted socialized. Mary cocker, who will be a wonderful family member to their future owners.
