Meet the breeder

I'm Ann M., the breeder behind Eden Retrievers located in Wisconsin. We value responsible breeding practices and want to do our part to ensure the Flat-Coated Retriever will continue to thrive. We are committed to the research, health-testing and follow-up on our dogs. We have been breeding for almost 40 years and have built up an extended family that continue to get puppies from us decade after decade. Their children are now getting dogs from us.

Q. & A. with Ann

  • Why did you start breeding?

I started in dogs in 1975 with Labrador Retrievers. I got my first Flat-Coated Retriever in 1985. I wanted a breed that could do it all unlike the Labradors that had become almost two separate breeds. I wanted dogs that could compete in the show ring one weekend and go hunting the next.
  • What makes your program special?

My commitment to the "total package". I want dogs that are happy, healthy and can do the job they were bred for. My passion for the breed is evident in the longevity and scope of my breeding program. As one of my puppy people best put it, "I breed LOVE"!
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
