Meet the breeder

I'm Edna N., the breeder behind Edna's Homegrown Bullies located in Leola, PA. At Edna’s Homegrown Bullies, we specialize in French Bulldogs and Boston Terriers, lovingly raised inside our home, never in kennels. Our puppies grow up with our boys as part of our family from day one, receiving daily socialization, hands-on care, and plenty of love.

Q. & A. with Edna

  • Why did you start breeding?

I’ve been around dogs my entire life. My parents bred Boston Terriers, so I grew up helping care for puppies and learning firsthand the importance of early socialization, proper nutrition, and loving hands-on care. From a young age, I saw how much those early weeks shape a puppy’s temperament, confidence, and health. That foundation is why I’m so passionate about breeding today. Raising French Bulldogs and Boston Terriers isn’t just a business to me , it’s something I grew up with and truly love. I take pride in raising puppies inside our home, not in kennels, giving them daily interaction, structure, and affection so they grow into happy, well-adjusted companions ready for their forever families across the Northeast.
  • What makes your program special?

What sets us apart is how our puppies are raised right in our home — never in kennels — and always surrounded by love and family, including our boys. From day one, they experience gentle handling, daily interaction, and the sights and sounds of everyday family life. This early exposure helps build confidence, stability, and wonderful temperaments. We’re up with mom every two hours during those first critical weeks, carefully monitoring each puppy to ensure they are nursing well, gaining weight, and thriving. We track their progress, provide a clean and safe environment, and give them individual attention so no pup is ever overlooked. As they grow, we begin early socialization, introducing new textures, mild household sounds, and positive human interaction to help them transition smoothly into their forever homes. We focus on raising healthy, well-adjusted French Bulldogs and Boston Terriers that are not only beautiful, but emotionally balanced and family ready. Our goal isn’t just to place puppies it’s to match each one with a loving home where they’ll be cherished for a lifetime. We stay connected with our families and are always here for guidance and support long after your puppy goes home.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Boston Terrier puppies include black brindle and white and black and white. French Bulldog puppies include cream, blue fawn, black and white, black and tan, and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Breeder-Reported Testing

Good level

Edna's Homegrown Bullies reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for French Bulldogs.

  • Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)

Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Patellar Luxation

Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome (BOAS)

A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
