I'm Julie L., the breeder behind Faithful Friends Cavaliers located in Castorland, NY. Our Cavaliers are a part of our family; they cuddle, sleep and adventure with us on the farm! All of our dogs are AKC Registered. We breed our dogs to be companion dogs, and we strive to create Cavaliers with a tender temperament and a strong, healthy body.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    We have always been invested in the well-being of animals, and we love these dogs dearly. We decided to start our own breeding program so that we could share with others the joyful experience of owning these incredible dogs!

  • What makes your program special?

    Our puppies are raised with love as a part of our family, and we strive to help each one grow up with confidence so they are ready to leave with their new families. They are affectionate, intelligent, and cute as can be!

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include blenheim, ruby, black and tan, and tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

    In July of 2022 my Fiancé and I brought home a beautiful black and tan Cavalier, named Finley, from Julie and couldn’t be happier with the whole process.     Julie and her entire family are such a blessing to have come into our family and hearts. It was love at first sight for me with our precious Ginger. She was born as a singleton and therefore did not experience little fog. She was always curious, paved her own way and is independent. I needed a special dog just like this one because of my medical conditions. Ginger not only aids me daily with those medical needs, she blended right into our very large family of eight grown children and nine grandchildren. She has a strong desire to please, makes sure that I am doing well, but also to be silly, playful and enjoys traveling. Ginger is definitely a jet setter and just turned one year old. She has traveled across the U.S. multiple times, on long road trips, in a plane, on a train, on our boat and if she had the opportunity would go in a box with a fox.     In the fall of 2023, I became interested in adding another dog to our family. I came across Cavalier King Charles Spaniels as a suggestion but I had never heard of the breed. When I started looking into it, I found Julie and was thrilled that she lived in my area. Julie was wonderful to work with. She responded promptly to all my questions and sent us so much information before bringing our puppy home that we felt very prepared. She welcomed me into her home to meet her own dogs before I made my decision. She also welcomed me again to meet our Maggie when she was just a baby. What really struck me was how much Julie and her family truly love these dogs. The puppies are read to, played with and cared for by the whole family. We are so thrilled with our girl Maggie! She’s happy, healthy, playful, and loves her chocolate lab brother. She was so easy to train, slept all night from the beginning and her temperament is outstanding. I cannot recommend this breed or Julie highly enough!

    My first cavalier was a rescue and while I had an amazing bond with her and fell in love with the breed, she had many health problems and special needs. Despite this, she was very helpful with anxiety and PTSD, and I was sure I wanted another cavalier after losing her. When deciding I was ready for another dog, I vetted many breeders looking for the best match. I was delighted to find Faithful Friends and my experience has been, and still is, the best I've had with any of my dog adoptions over the years. From the first conversation, Julie took note of what I was looking for in a companion and what I could provide. She really does match her dogs so wonderfully and can identify their personalities from birth. Julie is an excellent breeder with such care and attention to the wellbeing of not only her puppies, but the parents as well. It is clear that all of her dogs are loved as members of their family. From the birth of my dog's litter, after Julie said there was a female available, I put down a deposit and named her. From there, she and her family used her name and the rest of the litter's to start training and socializing them. The pups are all raised with the help of her wonderful children on their small farm, so they go to their owners completely desensitized to children of all ages, animals, noises, etc. My girl Zuzu is not only complimented on for being an excellent standard for the breed, but for having that amazing cavalier temperament of being fun-loving, athletic, engaged, but also willing to snuggle on the couch for down time. She is great at easing anxiety and lays on my chest when I have panic attacks. Zuzu, daughter of Sam and Meg, is incredibly smart and attentive and thrives in all types of environments! I ALWAYS refer Julie and her breeding program to anyone interested in a new addition. My friend nearby recently adopted a cavalier from Julie that we have sister play dates with. She too, is a doll and an example of Faithful Friends' excellence. All in all, I am so grateful to have found Julie and her program and couldn't imagine my life without my Faithful Friend, Zuzu.
