Meet the breeder

I'm Ellen D., the breeder behind Feu de l'Âme Beaucerons located in Hickory, MS. Feu de l’Âme means "fire of the soul." Our goal is to produce Beaucerons with strong working drives, stable temperaments, sound health, and correct structure. We strive to preserve and improve the qualities needed for success as working dogs while maintaining the breed's historic character and presence.

Q. & A. with Ellen

  • Why did you start breeding?

My original goal was simply to find the perfect companion for my family. After becoming involved in dog sports and mentoring under Casey of Royale Beaucerons, I whelped and raised my first litter with Zada. That experience sparked a passion for preserving the Beauceron's working ability, temperament, and versatility.
  • What makes your program special?

Every litter is carefully planned with a focus on health, temperament, structure, and working ability. Puppies are raised in a hands-on family environment using Puppy Culture protocols, extensive socialization, and early enrichment. My goal is to produce confident, versatile Beaucerons that excel as both working partners and family companions.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include harlequin and black and rust. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
