Q. & A. with Lynette

  • Why did you start breeding?

We try to raise dogs that can excel in whatever their owners decide to do with them, whether for fun or competition. Our dogs have been proven to excel at herding, flyball, agility, disc, dock diving, fast cat, obedience, rally, therapy dog, service dog, and hunting. We breed our dogs to be very versatile, thriving in working, performance, therapy, and pet homes.
  • What makes your program special?

First Harmony Farms is located in Tiskilwa, IL. We breed Border Collies, Miniature American Shepherds, and English Setters. First Harmony Farms was started in 1992 and is owned by Lynette and Stuart VandeVenter. Since then, we have added four children to our pack here. The kids also help with the raising and training of the dogs and puppies.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Border Collie puppies include smooth and rough coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Border Collie puppies include tri-color, blue merle, red merle, black, red, and seal. Miniature American Shepherd puppies include red tri-color, black tri, red merle, and blue merle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?
