Meet the breeder

I'm Brittany K., the breeder behind FoxRest Australian Shepherds located in Watkins, CO. We believe in raising structurally sound and mentally healthy dogs. Prior to being bred, our dogs have completed full genetic health testing, eye CAERs and have passing OFA hips and elbows. Each litter is planned in the best interest of the breed, our dogs are bred to breed standard and each breeding is carefully thought out taking pedigree, temperament, and health into consideration.

Q. & A. with Brittany

  • Why did you start breeding?

When I purchased my first show dog, I knew that I would eventually like to get into breeding in the future. It took me five years to find a mentor in the breed who was willing to take me under her wing. I am extremely thankful for my mentors who share their vast knowledge and experience to help me make decisions in my breeding program.
  • What makes your program special?

Our dogs are members of our home and our family first and foremost. All of our dogs compete in performance venues in addition to conformation. Herding instinct is important to me and something that I strive to preserve in my breeding program.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black, red merle, blue merle, and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
