I'm Kathryn J., the breeder behind GreenGate Labradors/GreenGateLabradors.com located in Eugene, OR. I'm a home-based breeder, and I strive to produce outstanding puppies that are structurally sound, healthy, intuitive with wonderful temperaments. I breed for quality, health, conformation and competition, and most importantly companionship. My dogs excel as family companions and in conformation, rally, obedience, and as therapy dogs--they must be smart, biddable, beautiful and eager to please and honest. Happy and exuberant outside, but quiet companions in the house. Taking deposits for current litter. Blacks and yellows.

Why did you start breeding?
I regularly participate in dog shows and started breeding to continue and improve on my prized Labrador Retriever line. I look to produce excellence in temperament and conformation, intelligence, and health. First, and foremost, my dogs are my companions and part of the family. Labradors have proven to be wonderful companions in my life and it is a privilege to share that love and friendship with others.What makes your program special?
My program is special because of my dogs. Labs are such a joy, and I find so much fulfillment in raising and preparing them for their new homes. My puppies come from show-quality lines and have excellent temperaments and conformation. I am dedicated to continuing my phenomenal bloodlines in an effort to provide my Labrador families with loving, healthy, and happy puppies.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black, chocolate, and yellow. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?

About Tes
Tes is truly my heart dog. She is sweet and loving, beautiful, and smart. Her mother is a certified therapy dog, and Tes surely follows in her footsteps. She loves meeting new people. She immediately flops on her back for tummy rubs and is especially gentle with toddlers and young children. I take her to events as a representative of her breed. Tesla is very biddable and has so far in addition to her champion title, has 13 points towards her grand champion and has a Canine Good Citizen, and Rally Novice title. Once she retires from showing, I will have her certified as a therapy dog. She's a perfect labrador. Tesla has had all of her health testing: Hips good; elbows normal; eyes cleared annually, heart clear/normal; and DNA clear by parentage.

Chickory, a bit on the small side, although within the desired standard, is a smart, funny, quirky girl. She is very athletic and loves running outside, fetching, swimming--typical lab traits. And, she's a great house dog, who settle quickly. She's a great retriever, and has earned many competitive titles, including CGCA, RN, CFD, CTD and is currently working on her rally intermediate.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
D Locus (Dilute) DNA test, PawPrint Genetic Panel (Breed Specific)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

Our experience with Kathryn was excellent in all facets. You can tell she had a real care and concern for dogs and gave us an absolute gem. Our little guy came to us well taken care of and clearly exposed to different things that set him up for success later in life. I would highly recommend getting a dog from Kathryn . They are gorgeous but even more the temperament is everything you would hope for. Thank you so much!!!!!!
