I'm Mark U., the breeder behind Gunsight Goldens located in Leadore, ID. We raise, train and compete Field-Bred Golden Retrievers notable for strong field drive and the ability to turn it off in the home.

Why did you start breeding?
We were exposed to Field-Bred Golden Retrievers several years ago and fell in love with their drive, intelligence and devotion to their owners and handlers. It started with one dog and before we knew it we have several. Sometimes its just the logical progression.What makes your program special?
One of our children was suffering from a health condition when we were first exposed to therapy & service animals. His love for dogs led to our first Golden Retriever and after his experience with the love and devotion these animals show led us to desire the ability to provide that wonderful resource of amazing animals to other people. We value the ethical breeding of quality, service capable dogsWhat are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include dark golden and golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?

Getting a puppy from Mark
Mark has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.
Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.
Price
Puppy prices include a $500 deposit and between $1,700 - $2,700 final payment, before taxes & fees.
“The price includes our puppy guarantee, AKC registration, DNA Test Panel, vaccinations, deworming, puppy socialization and field stimulation. $2200 for limited reg, $3200 for full registration. The deposit fee holds a dog for the buyer for a disclosed period of time. We do not refund the deposit for most circumstances of failed purchases however exceptional circumstances are considered.”

Mark may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. Litter update on 03 Nov. •…Dad gave us a bath today. We like baths. We already think the water is fun and love to lick it when it gets us wet. It’s nice to smell good too. We tried to look our cutest today to impress our future families.

Program update on 25 Feb. •…Hi! I’m pink girl and I’m the last litter mate. I’m still looking for my forever family and would love some kids to lick on or furry friends to snuggle. I’m very friendly, beautiful and smart of course, I’m a golden! Check me out! You could find yourself a keeper.

About Oakley
Oakley is our sweet, pleasant and joyful golden. She is a smaller framed golden retriever with a pedigree in both field lines and show lines. She has exceptional enthusiasm and determination as a working dog and an amazing off switch that makes her the ideal companion in the home. She loves kids and is the snuggliest field golden we've ever been around. She loves to please her people and is always up for an adventure. Oakley has excelled in both obedience training and AKC hunt tests. She is an AKC Junior Hunter.

About Gracie
RMFG Gunsight’s Golden Gracie SH, “Gracie” is an extremely intelligent, driven and loving companion that has excelled in field training. She has completed her AKC Senior Hunter title and has been training towards an expected Master Hunter title completion in ’25. She has a slightly darker than average coat and a nearly perfectly proportioned frame for field work. She has had all of her health checks (OFA: Hips - Good, Elbows, heart & Eyes - Normal / DNA Clear: PRA 1&2, ICH 1&2, DM, prcd-PRA).

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

We had an incredible experience with Gunsight goldens and we would do it all over again! Mark was very quick to reply, he answered all of my questions and kept us updated about our pup with pictures and videos until pickup. I knew he was the breeder to go through because of how knowledgeable he is about the breed. You can also tell he GENUINELY cares about these dogs! While Mark lives in Idaho and we live in Northern California, he was willing to meet up with us which made getting our boy possible! We absolutely adore our pup, Leo! He is very healthy, spunky, sweet, and curious. Mark even checked in after to make sure everything was going well, and transfer genetic data, as well as AKC register him!
