I'm Holly N., the breeder behind Hana Shibas located in Zionsville, IN. We are dedicated to finding the right home for our puppies because of our intense love for the breed and especially their parents Roya and Roshi. This breed is a treasure and ours are very intelligent and socialized. We start training early to keep their minds active and paws busy.

Here they are hanging out with me, Roya and Roshi. Roshi is definitely trying to play with them but they are just a little bit unsure still. All three of my male Shibas have socialized (under supervision) with them though my biggest Terre is a big chicken and just barks and runs away. 😂🙄😂 Notice New York is the first to stand her ears up all the time 👏🏻❤️ Can't wait for their little tails to curl. On a puppy it is too cute. On potty training note they are using the designated area (turf to simulate grass) when in the pen. When outside of the pen I have training pads out (disposable and the washable) and they are pretty good about using them already.

Very exciting news! Dry food is now on the menu! This is excellent as it will make feeding time so much easier!

Ran across this in case you want a Japanese name.

New York, Milan and Chicago playing this AM. Bloomington and Carmel were already fast asleep to the shenanigans. I'll try to get them later today playing.

In case you have never seen thus behavior from a Shiba.... Stubborn when they want. This was Roya as a puppy when she didn't want to walk anymore and wanted to be carried. The breed is famous for this when they are adolescents.

Played until they literally all fell asleep. Introduced things that made crinkle sounds today. Big hit. No tissue paper or feathers were consumed.... Shibas love a lot of cat toys like the sticks with feathers or the long crinkle stretchy fabric. It engages the hunting/chasing instinct. However, they tend to destroy the toy very fast as they are quite athletic and will rip it right off the tether. Also don't get the catnip... My solution is cat laser pointers (don't shine in eyes obviously) but mine will chase it until they drop. Will also chase it right in the house if they escape outside (you need to have a plan for how to handle this with training) or crate if they are being willful and not listening.

1 month old! They have had second dewormer already and we have started the transition on potty training to artificial turf. Their baby teeth are coming in nicely too. Walking around playing with siblings and teething toys too. For food we are on mom's milk but more ever day eating wet canned puppy food (Purina Pro Plan for puppy chicken or turkey). They haven't made the move to Hills puppy dry food yet but I keep trying ;)

Heading into fourth week! Cuteness is really staring to show! They are still nursing but also taking wet food. They also started chewing my fingers and the teether toys as their first teeth are starting to come...second round of deworming starts end of this week!
