Meet the breeder

I'm Loiesa K., the breeder behind Hanai Cavaliers located in Kapaa, HI. Hanai is Hawaiian for adopted and that means each and every dog we own/produce is forever family. Also, every client and new puppy/dog owner becomes part of our ohana (family).

Q. & A. with Loiesa

  • Why did you start breeding?

I have always wanted to become a dog breeder as far back as I can remember, but when I met my first Cavalier on Kauai in 2015, I knew I had found my heart breed. I bought my wonderful blenheim boy Pua'a in 2016 and made it my goal to learn all I could about the breed, the process of whelping, training and every bit of knowledge I could get my hands on.
  • What makes your program special?

We strive for every dog we own/produce to be well-balanced mentally, emotionally and structurally so they can enjoy a quality of life AND their owners can enjoy their Hanai addition to the family to the utmost.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include blenheim, ruby, black and tan, and tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
