I'm Hilary H., the breeder behind Happy Tails Shiba Inus located in Monett, MO. We focus on health, freedom, (we don’t keep our Shibas penned in kennels), and socialization (all our puppies spend their time with us/other dogs, not penned up). I work with each puppy to crate train and begin potty training within a week of their move to their new, forever home.

Getting a puppy from Hilary

Hilary has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

Puppy prices include a $200 non-refundable deposit and between $800 - $1,300 final payment, before taxes & fees.

This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.     Working with Hilary was such a breeze. My husband and I were a little hesitant to find a puppy online, but we decided to give it a try and take it step by step, seeing how we felt along the way. From the moment we contacted Hilary letting her know we were interested in Mocha, we were met with kind, quick, and thorough responses. Not only did she answered every question we had and provided us with important information about Shibas in general, but she also asked us questions to make sure we were a good fit for Mocha, which to me was a good indication that she was making sure her puppies went to good homes. During the process, we were able to set up a video call to meet Hilary and see Mocha, and we could immediately see the love she has for her puppies. Payment, transportation, and all the logistics were handled quickly and efficiently. Hilary was amazing at keeping us updated on Mocha’s status and within a few days, we had our fur-baby home. He arrived clean, healthy, happy, and so very loving and sweet-natured. We could tell he had been loved and cared for very much by Hilary. We’ve had Mocha now for 6 months and Hilary has been amazing at staying in touch with us and answering questions we’ve had along the way.     Hilary was a pleasure to work with and was very responsive to my messages. She sent me photos of our puppy every few weeks, and even worked with me regarding our meet up place that worked better for me. We picked up our beautiful cream Shiba and she is such a joy and such an adorable puppy!

    Hilary was amazing to work with! We got our sweet boy from her and couldn’t be happier! We picked him up and she showed us around the property. All her Shibas were happy, healthy and roamed free on the property so they could be their true primitive breed selves. They were all so sweet and very friendly. The puppies are well taken care of, crate trained before pickup and well loved on by her and her family. We love our boy Yuki and when we decide to get another Shiba, we will be coming to her!     Hilary was very responsive and super helpful with me adopting my Shiba Inu. His name is Chocobo (Choco for short). I've never owned a dog before and was worried on how to undergo the adoption process, especially since I live many states away from as well as doing so online.... Hilary made it easy by walked me through the process and by providing good to know info. She helped with the logistics of getting him flown over to California and it was a seamless process. Hilary helped ease my concerns and nervousness of adopting online. He was healthy, came with his papers and when arrived he adapted to his new household right away. I've stayed in touch with Hilary to share how Chocobo is doing and he is now 1yrs old. Hilary brought me and my furbaby together and I will always be thankful.
