Meet the breeder

I'm Travis P., the breeder behind Happy-Go-Lucky Homestead located in Oak Harbor, WA. Happy-go-lucky Homestead offers loving companions, intelligent dogs for pets, show, or working. We are happy go lucky Homestead on Whidbey Island. Here we raise our two young children, goats, chickens, and dogs. We have two Australian Shepherds, Maisy and Rusty, and a working Great Pyrenees Lottie-Da. We love living in the PNW & our dog tag along for all our adventures and farm work.

Q. & A. with Travis

  • Why did you start breeding?

My wife grew up raising litters of hunting beagles so when we started our home with mini Australian Shepards it was a no-brainer! We pride ourselves with breeding healthy, well tempermented puppies that are exposed to other farm animals and young children. Now that we have the ability to share the joy that is owning an Australian Shepard and the great companion and adventure buddy they are.
  • What makes your program special?

Our parents have the luxury to live and work on an active Homestead with chickens and goats and with plenty of room to run and play. Puppy litters are raised in doors where they get used to every day noises, routines, and loved on by small children daily. They are controlled exposed to our chickens, goats, and cat. And are started with a pellets potty training method early on.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include blue merle, black tri, and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
