I'm Kami H., the breeder behind Hart of Doxie located in Vale, OR. Welcome to our small, in-home Dachshund breeding program. I have been lucky enough to share my life with Dachshunds for 15 years, and breeding them has been a natural next step in a lifelong love for this remarkable breed. For the past two years, I have been carefully and thoughtfully building a program centered on healthy, well-socialized puppies and families who are as excited about Dachshunds as I am. My dogs are not kennel dogs—they are my pets first. They live in our home, sleep where they are comfortable, play in the yard, go on adventures, and are part of our daily lives. Every dog in my program is treated as an individual, with their own personality, routine, and place in our family. Breeding is something I take seriously, but it never comes before the happiness, comfort, and well-being of my dogs. Because I keep my program small, I am able to give each litter the time, attention, and hands-on care they deserve. Puppies are raised in a home environment where they experience everyday sights, sounds, handling, playtime, and plenty of love. My goal is for every puppy to leave here feeling secure, social, and ready to bond with their new family.
