I'm Theresa O., the breeder behind Heartland Cavaliers located in Otsego, MN. We breed and raise quality Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. They are loved and cuddled daily by my husband and I and our 5 children! We strive to raise puppies that are healthy and happy. We treasure each puppy and give them constant love and affection! Each of our dogs are a part of the family!

  • Why did you start breeding?

    Ever since I left the veterinary field I missed taking care of clients pets. I came to the realization that I still could do that from my home and with my children, but in just a different kind of way! By giving puppies a good start and sending them off to loving homes.

  • What makes your program special?

    I strive to provide happy healthy puppies! We do all the recommended health testing. But above all I think our dogs truly have the best life! We live on a farm with lots of room to run and play and go on daily golf cart rides!:) And in the summer we love to spend most of our time at the cabin! To play at the beach and go for long wilderness walks! Our dogs are very happy…and they are so lovable!❤️

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include blenheim, ruby, black and tan, and tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Theresa

Puppy prices include a $300 non-refundable deposit and $1,700 final payment, before taxes & fees.

"Price includes guarantee, AKC limited registration, vet check, first round of shots and dewormer, microchip, and puppy socialization. I collect deposits 2 weeks after puppies are born."

Theresa may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.   • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Patellar Luxation

    Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • DNA Disease Panel

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
