I'm Kimberly D., the breeder behind Hickory House Cavaliers located in Solon, IA. We care deeply about the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel breed and have built that love and respect for the breed into every aspect of our program. We are dedicated to always providing our buyers and our puppies with a positive experience, which includes remaining committed to responsible practices when it comes to breeding, training, and rehoming our puppies.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I have always been around breeders and when I met my first Cavalier King Charles Cavalier I was smitten. I knew I had to do all I could to preserve the breed and improve it as I could.

  • What makes your program special?

    We ensure health testing is done and you don’t have to pay more for a strongly bred quality healthy dog that is raised in our home underfoot. You pay the same price or less than dogs without health testing and clear genetics.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Kimberly

Kimberly has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $1,500 - $2,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.     Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
