I'm Brett H., the breeder behind Honey Run Boykins located in Portland, TN. Our dogs are high quality, reputable Boykin Spaniels triple registered by AKC, UKC, and BSS. They are health tested by the OFA, also having 2-3 generations of pedigrees available. Our puppies are fully vaccinated, dewormed, docked, and most of all, loved so much.

Why did you start breeding?
Our love for the breed made us decide to share it with everyone else. These dogs are all-around amazing. They have a high hunting drive, love to play, great with small children and families, and will also become your best lap dog.What makes your program special?
We are located in Middle Tennessee, which is not a common area for Boykin Spaniels to be located in. We take care of our puppies with love, and treat them as our own dogs.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include brown, dark brown, chocolate, and liver. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Brett partners with them to find the best puppy match.

“2 rounds of vaccinations, docked tails, deworming, health tests from parents (as well as pedigrees), champion Boykin spaniel genetics, triple registered (AKC, UKC, BSS), and puppy socialization. Females are $500 more than males due to breeding rights. You can request no breeding rights but NO DISCOUNT for this. You MUST pay same price. Deposit guarantees your puppy choice.”

Parent health testing

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Collie Eye Anomaly (CEA), Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
