I'm Julie H., the breeder behind Honovi Shiba located in Bedford, IN. Our Shibas live in the house with us and are socialized with children and other pets. We like to show in conformation, fast cat, as well as dock diving. We are looking for families and individuals that will provide our puppies with the same level of love and care.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I’ve always had a passion for animals and watched Westminster Dog Show as a child. I became a veterinary technician and met a wonderful lady that introduced me to the world of showing and breeding quality dogs.
  • What makes your program special?

    I do all my health testing, I breed for stable temperaments and good family companions. You have a lifetime commitment from me to answer any questions and help if you need it at any point of your puppies life. If for any reason you can’t keep your dog I will take them back and rehome for you with no worries.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies are red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

  • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
