Meet the breeder

I'm Victoria W., the breeder behind Hope Service Dogs, Inc located in Sumterville, FL. Hope Service Dogs changes lives and provides hope for tomorrow by breeding, raising and training exceptional golden retriever service dogs that are health and temperament tested.

Q. & A. with Victoria

  • Why did you start breeding?

Helping owner trainers for 18 years have shown me that, while breed IS important, the health, temperament and trainability are more important. It is not about finding any old golden retriever breeder, but finding one who knows what to look for because of their 18 years experience training service dogs, and who can match you up to that perfect puppy and a lifetime of success.
  • What makes your program special?

Breeding for service dogs gives us the health and temperament you want for a working service dog, a loving family pet, and a friendly therapy dog. Because we were dog trainers first, we know how to start these puppies so they are the best they can be. All of our puppies go home with one of HeartSoulK9.com's online courses for Service Dogs or Companion Dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.

We don’t have our pup yet- we opted for the 16 week training program- but I am so thankful for Victoria and her willingness to answer so many questions with patience and understanding! We live about 4 hours from the breeder and were able to arrange a visit of their facility this summer. It was good to meet Victoria and the team and get to see so many wonderful dogs! They all made us feel welcome and shared so much information. It was especially helpful as we have never even had a dog as a pet. I left feeling way better at the prospect of getting a service dog for our kiddo! On Thanksgiving day we were “assigned” our new puppy and we are super excited to meet him in January!!

I cannot say enough good things about Hope Service Dogs. They took all of the information I gave them and paired me with my dream pup, Ranger. He is everything I could have ever wanted and more. He is incredibly well rounded, from a flawless temperament to his perfect health to his incredibly good looks. I recommend HSD to anybody looking for a golden retriever, especially for service work. A future with Ranger is full of hope and independence and I couldn’t be more grateful.
