Meet the breeder

I'm Karen B., the breeder behind Irish Heart Bostons located in Kingsport, TN. Our Bostons are picked for quality & obtained through respected breeders. They're thoroughly & regularly vet checked. We've done Embark DNA testing on all our breeding ages dogs. They're on a diet of high quality homemade feed, high quality dry food and vitamin supplements. They are socialized and get along great with cats and children.

Q. & A. with Karen

  • Why did you start breeding?

It was something my husband and I wanted to do for a long time. We waited till we were closer to retirement and set about making it happen in 2023 with Bostons. I bred Min Pins during the 90s while I was raising my kids but stopped as my kids and dogs got older. I fell in love with raising great, healthy, happy, well adjusted puppies. When owners tell you how wonderful their pup is it's addictive.
  • What makes your program special?

We did so much research into this breed and I couldn't be more pleased with our choice. We are a small family owned home based operation. Our dogs are house raised and trained. They sleep and travel with us. They've filled the void that our adult children left. Our dogs are sweet and playful. We dote on them. They have the greatest and unique personalities. They bring tremendous joy to our lives.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include red, lilac, blue, black brindle and white, seal brindle and white, black and white, and seal and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Finding Our Perfect Puppy with Irish Hearts Bostons! I recently brought home my Boston Terrier puppy, Georgia, from Ms. Karen of Irish Hearts Bostons, and I could not be happier with the entire experience! From the very beginning, Ms. Karen was responsive, knowledgeable, and kind. She answered all of my many questions with patience and provided frequent updates and photos, which gave me such peace of mind while waiting for Georgia to be ready to come home. Georgia is healthy, well-socialized, and absolutely delightful. It is clear she was raised in a loving, attentive environment where her early needs were met with care. Ms. Karen’s dedication to her dogs shines through in every detail — from the health testing and responsible breeding practices to the way she prepares her puppies for their new families. I feel so fortunate to have found Irish Hearts Bostons through GoodDog. I highly recommend Ms. Karen to anyone looking for a happy, healthy, and well-adjusted Boston Terrier puppy. Georgia has already brought so much joy into our lives, and I am so grateful to Irish Hearts Bostons for making that possible. THANKS AGAIN KAREN AND FAMILY AT IRISH HEART BOSTONS!!! <3

We don’t have our puppy yet, but Karen is quick to answer any questions you may have. She takes these puppies out for car ride, leash training, housebreaking, and socializing. I don’t think you will find that in many breeders. I feel that she really goes above and beyond with everything that she does for these puppies. And I’m happy I found her on Good Dog!

Kimmie is the perfect little Boston! She was the runt of the litter but that made her fit perfectly with my rescue Chihuahua. Her personality is SO adorable! She's been by my side since the moment I met her! You would never, ever know she was the runt because of her huge personality and the fact she's 100% go - typical Boston, which I love! Thank you so much Karen for this doll!

Your search over; Irish Heart Bostons is it! Ruby has been home with us for almost 72 hours now and I just have to say that she is absolutely perfect! I had no idea what to expect; I’ve never adopted such a young pup and have never owned a Boston. I worried about crate training and house training, interrupted sleep and whether or not she would get along with our other pets. I don’t know if Ruby is the exception to the rule, but none of those things have been an issue so far! As soon as we arrived to pick her up, I could tell that the pups had been beautifully socialized; they all ran up to get love from absolute strangers. Our cats are still wary, but Ruby will win them over. She is excited to meet everyone and is already in love with her big brother. These pups have also been perfectly conditioned to be crate & house trained. Ruby is already learning to go to her crate on her own, settles down quickly, allows us to sleep through the night and hasn’t made a mess in her crate once. We learned her potty schedule quickly and haven’t had a mess in the house since. I honestly can’t provide enough praise in this review. Karen was amazing; she is responsive, flexible, considerate and obviously dotes on her Bostons. She sent us home with all types of goodies and remains responsive. Ten stars!!

We were very satisfied using our Good Dog account a second time to find a match with a responsible breeder. Karen responded thoroughly and promptly to our questions and we found our Greta girl. Pickup time allowed us to talk and fawn over our new family addition, very easy going. Karen followed up with us afterwards to make sure things were going well and we cannot have bene happier with our decision to trust Karen and our new baby dog is our heart! Greta is always happy, very attached and loving with us, playful and spunky. She loves playing with our two year old "sister" dog. Thank you to Karen, Irish Heart Bostons for being responsible and there for us!

I'm so glad I found good dog's site. Karen was wonderful, and very responsive. She sent daily updates on our puppy. Even after we meet Karen to pickup our puppy she texted to see how she was doing and if we had any questions. We had a great experience with Karen and good dog website. I would definitely recommend!!
