I'm Casey I., the breeder behind Ives Heritage Homestead located in Midland, MI. At Ives Heritage Homestead, I’m a hobby farmer raising family Boykin Spaniels. My female is a trained trauma response dog, and my male is a duck hunting dog. Puppies are raised hands-on in a home setting, producing confident dogs suited for hunting, therapy, work, or family life.

Why did you start breeding?
I love Boykin Spaniels for their heart, drive, and loyalty. They are incredibly versatile—happy in the field, on the water, or at home with family. Their intelligence and eagerness to please make them truly special. That’s why I choose to breed them, continuing the traits I admire while sharing this amazing breed with others who value the same qualities.What makes your program special?
I raise Boykin Spaniels to carry on the traits that matter most to me—loyal, intelligent, and versatile dogs that can do it all. As a hobby farmer, my dogs are part of my everyday life, not a business. Any litter is planned with care, focusing on strong genetics and temperament to produce confident dogs suited for hunting, work, therapy, or family life.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are liver. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?

Getting a puppy from Casey
Casey has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
After buyers complete the application and screening process, Casey partners with them to find the best puppy match.
“We want you to choose the puppy that truly feels like your puppy—the one you’re naturally drawn to and connect with. That bond matters to us. To help with that, we’ll set up a video call so you can see the puppies in real time, watch their personalities, and get a feel for which one is meant for you.”
Price
“The price includes BSS, AKC, and UKC papers with full rights. Tails docked, back dew claws removed, age appropriate vaccines, wellness certificate, microchip, food, treats, and a blanket. Puppies with a "All Clear" genetic testing results are $1000 more which includes BSS, AKC, UKC with FULL breeding All other Puppies are clear for EIC & DM, but are carriers for CEA, but NOT affected.”

Parent health testing
Ives Heritage Homestead reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Boykin Spaniels.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC), Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), Collie Eye Anomaly (CEA)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
