Meet the breeder

I'm Leah S., the breeder behind J&L Farm located in Cleveland, GA. We are breeding our Aussies to bring back the herding/working drive. All of our dogs that we use for breeding have been tested to MDR1 and Collie Eye. We are breeding working puppies; they will do best with a job to do whether that is living on a farm or a very active family. We look forward to connecting with you! Both Hobo and Freckles both work sheep and cows plus compete in rally and agility.

Q. & A. with Leah

  • Why did you start breeding?

My husband and I have had Australian Shepherds off and on for the past 30+ years to help around the farm. It seemed like every time we went to get a new dog it was harder and harder to find a dog that was willing to work and calm enough to go everywhere with us. We decided it was time to solve this problem as we are very familiar with the breed and what we were looking for.
  • What makes your program special?

We are breeding for health, temperament, intelligence, and working lines.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black, red merle, and blue merle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
