I'm Rashell J., the breeder behind Johnson Prairie Pups located in Altus, OK. We're a small family program that enjoys the hobby of raising adorable, happy Dachshund puppies for other loving families. They’re a daily part of everything we do until they’re ready to join their forever homes. We are looking for homes that will provide our puppies with the same level of love and care!

Why did you start breeding?
21 years ago my husband and I bought our first miniature dachshund and fell in love. We had her for 13 years and just knew we had to share this breed with others.What makes your program special?
We adore our babies and they are in wonderful health. Our dogs are raised around our children, horses, pigs and tons of farm equipment. It’s a fun life with lots of acres to run and play.What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our puppies include wirehaired, smooth, and longhaired coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include cream, red, chocolate, fawn (isabella), black and cream, black and tan, fawn (isabella) and tan, chocolate and tan, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and guardian homes.

Rashell has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.
Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.
Price
Puppy prices include a $300 non-refundable deposit and between $700 - $3,700 final payment, before taxes & fees.

Contract & health guarantee
Rashell may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. Rashell was amazing! I had been searching for almost a year for a perfect breeder for a mini long hair dachshund. I kept getting stuck with all the scams until I found Rashell, she was open to video call and to answer any of my questions. She sent pictures weekly to show my little Chai’s progress as she grew. She also sent home food, treats, puppy pads, and her all her paper work with me. We absolutely love our little Chai and so does my other dog Coco, he found his partner for life! She’s 10 weeks now, we can’t wait to see her grow 🩷

+6Johnson Prairie Pups was AMAZING! The communication between us was easy, and we received photos and updates on our puppy regularly. We live in another state, so our puppy had to be flown to us. That process was great. We have had our puppy for over a month, and he is PERFECT! You can tell he was loved and cared for before he arrived. I highly recommend Johnson Prairie Pups, and would definitely purchase another puppy from them in the future.

+4Working with Johnson Prairie Pups has been such a dream! I had to have my pup flown and put on two separate plane rides, she had him in such a safe, clean and comfortable set up while he made his way to me! Even after he arrived I have been able to be in contact with her regularly and she is quick to respond to questions and concerns as well as equipping me with education on how this breed works!
