Meet the breeder

I'm Shirley S., the breeder behind Keltic Kennels Miniature Pinschers located in Mulberry, FL. Born and raised in Belfast Northern Ireland (UK). Now residing in sunny Florida . I come from a long line of dog lovers. My sister shows her Irish Wolfhounds, my other sister has 30 years in mini Dachshunds. And I choose the Min Pin ! Focusing on the health and temperament of my dogs without sacrificing structure. My dogs show in conformation, agility and rally. All of my dogs are MPS VI clear OFA certified patellar, cardiac.

Q. & A. with Shirley

  • What makes your program special?

My puppies will have a current health certificate and their first set of vaccines administered by my veterinarian, Dr Latter, at All Creatures Animal Clinic Lakeland Fl. A fecal check and microchip. AKC registration application marked limited (puppies are sold as companions and not for breeding). Tails will be docked and dewclaws removed. I do not crop my companion puppies. I recommend waiting to spay or neuter your puppy until they are at least one year old as sex hormones play a big role in development. I let my mother dogs do the weaning and never separate them. The puppies mix with my other dogs, under supervision, from the time they can walk. I give a lifetime health guarantee against any life threatening genetic faults. Size and colour should be secondary to finding a happy healthy pet that will fit your lifestyle. Remember, adding a puppy to your family is a life long commitment. The right fit for the puppy and your family is important. I would not recommend a Min Pin puppy for a household with infants or toddlers. Households with young children should consider a larger dog that can withstand the knocks of childhood. Min Pin puppies are very small (2 lbs. @ 8 weeks old) and can be seriously injured by rough treatment. Not only physically but mentally as well. Please remember your puppy will need your guidance and training to make him/her a wonderful member of your family. Min Pins have an average life span of 12 + years. New puppies are a considerable amount of work, puppies will have potty accidents and tear things up, are you ready to accept them and willing to help them grow. Be sure you are ready to make that commitment before you purchase one. Their lives are precious and they deserve the best life you can give them.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include stag red, red, chocolate and tan, and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
