I'm Kim T., the breeder behind Kimmerly Aussies located in St. Louis, MO. Our dogs are our family. They are raised in our home and allowed to sleep on the bed. We compete in agility with them. Aurora has qualified for the AKC Agility Nationals for the last 4 years in a row and has competed at them the last 3 years. Chance qualified in 2022 and 2023. This year he finished as the Number 2 Australian Shepherd in his division. We also compete in dock diving. Our goal in breeding and raising Aussies is to better the breed and provide families with a well adjusted puppy ready to compete in any venue or just to hold the couch down. We raise our puppies in our home and follow Puppy Culture Protocols to give them the strongest start in life possible. We provide lifetime support and guidance to our puppy families. For our local families, we also keep your puppy in case you need to go out of town.
Q. & A. with Kim
Why did you start breeding?
After bringing our female over from Slovakia, we decided we wanted to raise quality Aussies that were not only gorgeous but were capable of competing in any venue possible along with having an “Off Switch”.
What makes your program special?
We raise our Aussies in our home and follow Puppy Culture Protocol including ENS (Early Neurological Stimulation). Our puppies are loved on daily, socialized with all different people, and exposed to various environments.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include red & white, black & white, black, red merle, blue merle, and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Breeder-Reported Testing
Good level
Kimmerly Aussies reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Australian Shepherds.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
Brucellosis
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Hereditary (Juvenile) Cataracts (HC; JC), Australian Shepherd Type, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), OFA/CHIC DNA Repository, DNA Profile, Collie Eye Anomaly (CEA), Multiple Drug Sensitivity (MDR1), Cone Degeneration
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
