I'm Jennifer L., the breeder behind Kingslee Cavaliers located in Traverse City Area, MI. We are a small preservation/show breeder. Our focus is correct type, health, temperament and conformation. We raise a limited number of litters per year and occasionally have puppies available to approved companion homes. We educate our puppy families and have a strong focus on holistic care.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I started in Cavaliers when my breed mentors mom retired from breeding. That was my start with some nice solid bloodlines with good heart history (very important in our breed). I joined a breed club, started showing and gained many mentors in the breed. I am always researching. Breed type, structure, health and temperament are my priority.

  • What makes your program special?

    We are always available for our puppy families. Education is key. We are very proactive in health & testing. Our dogs and puppies live in our home and are very well socialized. We do more than the average health testing in our breeding program. We believe in being very selective with our parent dogs. We only raise 1 - 3 litters a year.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include blenheim and tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home and guardian homes.

Getting a puppy from Jennifer

Jennifer has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 deposit and between $3,300 - $4,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Puppies are dewormed, vet checked, vaccinated, micro-chipped, come with their food and a toy. They have AKC limited registration. ALL parent dogs receive age-appropriate MRI's. A deposit is taken once the puppies are a minimum of 3 weeks old. Deposit may be refundable or transferable, depending on the situation.”

Jennifer may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.   • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Patellar Luxation

    Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • Syringomyelia (MRI)

    A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • Dry Eye Curly Coat Syndrome (CKSID)

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
