I'm Martin B., the breeder behind Kountry Home Shelties located in Taylorville, IL. Our shelties are bred for providing loving healthy puppies to families who want a faithful, loving, and intelligent dog.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    My wife and I are semi-retired and have always shared a love for all animals. We have had many breeds of dogs but have been partial to Shelties. When we moved into the country we acquired a couple of Shelties.
  • What makes your program special?

    Kountry Home Shelties our dog's excellent care and room to run. They are exposed to people of all ages for the elderly to infants. Kountry Shelties is located in cental Illinois. We have delivered our puppies to many locations. On one occasion we delivered to Boston, Ma.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include blue merle white and tan and black white and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $1,000 - $1,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered), Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
