I'm Christa A., the breeder behind Lava Ridge Cavaliers located in Blackfoot, ID. Our puppies start early neurological stimulation, socialization and specific health protocols. Everything we do is calculated and has a purpose. Our goal is to have puppies healthy and confident when it comes time for them to head out on their journey to their new families! Why did you start breeding?
In 2003 I was able to find a mentor, who had shown schnauzers for 22 yrs, who took me under her wing and helped me with my first litter of puppies. I was hooked. I loved it all… the learning to find the best pair, the breeding, the whelping, the puppy stages. There is something so amazing about handing over a puppy to an excited family knowing our puppy will change their lives for the better!What makes your program special?
We keep it small and high quality. We have studied lots of different programs (PCM and BAB etc). And over the years we have found a sweet combination of what works best for us and our puppies. We have our adult dogs in our home with us. So puppies are with in eyesight at all times. This allows us to talk to them, touch them and prepare them for life within your homes. Not in kennels.Where do your breeding dogs live?

Getting a puppy from Christa
Christa has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.
Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.
Price
Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $1,000 - $2,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.
“Sex of a puppy and breeding rights (to qualifying homes only) or a pet only contract do affect the price of a puppy. A deposit is placed to hold an exact puppy for you. If for some reason that puppy is not able to be sold then your deposit would be refunded.”
Contract & health guarantee
Christa may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
