I'm Debi F., the breeder behind Lil Deschutes located in La Pine, OR. Our puppies are excellent representations of their breed, and we are proud to offer our high-quality puppies to loving homes. We are experienced breeders. We’re careful to breed and raise our pups with only the best policies. The quality of our dogs reflects the conscious decisions we make throughout every part of the breeding process.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    My husband raised and trained hunting breeds and one year my daughter wanted a small puppy for her birthday. Not knowing anything about the dachshund breed I bought a unregistered puppy that ended up being the best puppy we ever had "Gus".

  • What makes your program special?

    I show my puppies and health test all breeding adults. I do not keep any puppy for breeding purposes that does not pass all health testing or has a bad or even questionable temperament. I socialize all puppies from the day they are born.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies include miniature and standard sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies have smooth coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include red, wild boar, chocolate and tan, and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Debi

Debi has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Debi partners with them to find the best puppy match.

“We are confident that all our puppies leave us with great socialization and temperament. We place puppies as we get applications that are approved. We try to place puppies at 12 weeks of age but they are living animals and must clear all vet checks and have a clean fecal before leaving us”

Puppy prices include a $300 non-refundable deposit and $1,700 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“The price includes 1 year written health guarantee, AKC prepaid registration, Microchip, First vaccinations, 8 week health examination, and clear fecal. Deposit holds puppy until ready to go to new home at 12 weeks of age.”

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Patellar Luxation

    Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • DNA Disease Panel

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

    My experience with Debi was amazing she made sure to answer any and all of my questions that I had about the puppy we were getting. Debi was able to work with me on a location to pick up the puppy since it was a long drive for me to go all the way to where she was located. She kept me up to date on all vet appointments and sent letters from the vet appointments as a review. When picking up the puppy Debi supplied a going home goodie bag for the puppy and us containing vet records on the puppy and background on mom and dad, the bag also came with some toys for the puppy and a small bag of food for him. Overall I would definitely go back to her for another puppy
