I'm Nick/Julie L., the breeder behind Looney Farm’s Toy & Mini Aussies located in Norwood, MO. Our pups r bred w/health & temperament in mind. Plus, we leave tails intact! If that is what you are searching 4, then you the right breeder! We care 4 ea. pup, & will place them according. They are raised indoors& underfoot **If you are looking for an older dog, ask me abt my retired moms and dads!

  • Why did you start breeding?

    Aussies have always been my ❤️ dog. I didn’t give breeding full thought until 2015, after a life-altering diagnosis. After lots of research, I purchased my first breeding pair. They were more for companionship than actual breeding. Fast forward 2 years, & proper tests done, I had my first litter. My breeding program is geared towards those in need of a well bred companion.

  • What makes your program special?

    Dams receive pre/post-natal care. All parents have been DNA/health tested. The pups are raised in home, w/daily human contact, ENS to help the pup have a pos. adjustment to stress. Pups have every 2 wks checks for worming/health checks. Age approp. shots. Health cert. ASDR app. 1-year health guarantee, 30 days of free Trupanion health ins. Registered Microchip w/no fee to buyer.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Miniature Australian Shepherd puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our Toy Australian Shepherd puppies include black tri, blue merle, red merle, and red tri. Miniature Australian Shepherd puppies include blue merle, black tri, red tri, and red merle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Nick/Julie

Nick/Julie has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Nick/Julie partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Puppy prices include a $400 non-refundable deposit and between $600 - $1,400 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“We try our best 2 keep the puppies the same in each litter.Breeding rights are on a case by case situation & are an added cost. My prices are set w/vet fees & care in mind (pre birth to going home). The deposit is non-refundable BUT does have the option to be moved 2 another puppy of the SAME litter OR future litter (at the discretion of the breeder). Cash refund will NOT be given 4 any reason.”

    I contacted Julie within a few days of my soul dog passing at 17.75 years old. I wasn’t totally sure if I was going to get a dog right now but I am so glad I did. Ozzie aka spider man is such a little love bug that is bringing so much joy to myself and my other dog Noah that was very bonded with Ezra (my baby that passed). Julie has been incredible to work with. If I could give life advice to anybody it would be to get a dog from her. She puts her heart and soul into her program. She sent me so many photos and videos and was so accommodating throughout the whole process. I didn’t feel rushed or obligated and there was zero pressure. She’s extremely responsive to messages. I could go on and on, and I only have great things to say about her and this whole experience. The Transport company she uses for ground Transportation was amazing as well. I could see where my puppy was on a map the whole time - and their communication was also a 12 out of 10! They send some really cute texts with updates on your pups. I also love that Ozzie has a tail which by the way does not stop wagging! He’s got such a sweet and calm disposition. Fortunately I get to work from home and be with my dogs all the time. Thank you Julie! I am forever honored and grateful to have one of your precious babies.

    Nick/Julie was so great and easy to work with. Any question(s) I had they were answered in a great time response. We had a certain time / window that we could pick up our puppy and we were met on the time / window that we requested and was kept on the loop even on the day we were meeting to pick up. I am very thankful not only that we worked with a great breeder, as Nick/Julie but just as great finding Good Dog website. There are too may scams out there, especially when trying to find something on line.

    We couldn’t be happier with Charlie! From the very beginning, he has been healthy, confident, and wonderfully well-socialized. It’s obvious he was raised with care and given a great start in life. Charlie has an incredible temperament. He’s affectionate, curious, intelligent, and eager to learn. He’s adapted quickly to new environments, sleeps through the night, has done very well with potty training, and has fit right into our family. He especially loves spending time with my grandchildren, and watching them grow up together is exactly what I had hoped for when I chose him.     Everything from first contact with Julie, right through delivery of Linus ,went super smoothly. Julie provided so much information (including genetics) about his parents and his care. Julie answered all questions and was extremely helpful in every way. She was amazing. Linus is such a darling and quite the character. Linus and our older Aussie(Oliver, age 14) are are developing a tentative relationship. In these first three days, Linus has stolen our hearts. He is so smart at 9 weeks, he comes when called, sits , is learning to retrieve and slept all night in his crate. He is a perfect beautiful mini -Aussie. We can't thank Julie enough.
