I'm Lori M., the breeder behind Lori's Cavalier King Charles Spaniels & Dachshunds located in Harvard, IL. I have been a breeder for 40 years. I breed for healthy puppies and ones that can also go and win in the show ring. They are all AKC registered. I check hearts and eyes on my cavaliers and have also been doing the embark on them. So far, I have not had any come back with a cavalier issue.
Q. & A. with Lori
Why did you start breeding?
I grew up always wanting a dog. So when I got married, one of the first things we did was to get an AKC registered dog. (Chinese Shar-Pei). I was lucky enough to find a mentor and she taught me SO much. She also pointed me in the cavalier direction and the rest is history. I have dabbled in many breeds over the years. But have always stayed with the cavaliers and now dachies also.
What makes your program special?
I believe my program is special in that I have given my whole life to producing quality puppies. I believe I have a good eye and only breed the best females to produce the best puppies.
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Dachshund puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Dachshund puppies have smooth coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppies include blenheim, ruby, tri-color, and black and tan. Dachshund puppies include piebald, red, and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
