MACs Border Collies meets or exceeds our community standards in these areas:

Border Collie
About Chip
Chip is a beautiful smooth coat (short-hair) red/white border collie. He is dark red in color and has very minimal white. He comes from champion bloodline from his father. He was from our litter last year, and due to his laid-back personality (like his father), we decided to keep him. He has been working with cattle and is still in training as a working dog, but he is excellent in-doors as a member of our family.

Border Collie
About Lady
Lady is the sweetest rough coat (long hair) black/white border collie. She was bred from well known breeder Kat Teufel in Oregon, who has bred many champion dogs from this bloodline, so Lady is a champion bloodline dam. Her littermate brother took many first places at trials and also took 1st at the national open cow trial last year. She is a small female, only about 30 lbs., but she has a big personality. She loves attention and would be a lap dog if we let her. Lady was trained to work sheep and has been introduced to cattle. She is a special part of our family.

Border Collie
About Lucy
Lucy is a female Border Collie. Carefully selected as a great representative of her breed, Michael decided to make her part of their program. Michael has passed Good Dog’s screening process, which involved a review of their breeding practices, environment, and the mental and physical health of their dogs.
Great level
MACs Border Collies reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Border Collies.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Congenital Deafness (BAER, registered with OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
