I'm Beverly S., the breeder behind Magic Lhasa Apsos located in Merced, CA. I am an AKC Breeder of Merit and have been showing and breeding for over 20 years. We breed for health, conformation and temperament. All of the dogs we breed are AKC Champions. Our dogs are family members and companions first and foremost and show dogs second. We raise dogs that we enjoy living with and believe others will also.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    Our first Lhasa Apso was from a backyard breeder. She made us fall in love with the breed but she had multiple health problems. When I started looking for another Lhasa, I knew to get one from a reputable breeder. I got my first really nice male Lhasa in 1999 and started showing. I later bought a girl, Diva, from the same breeder. After she finished her championship, I bred my first litter. That was in 2001. I only breed occasionally, in fact this litter is the first I have bred in 5 years!

  • What makes your program special?

    I said before that I breed for health, conformation and temperament. But I also breed to preserve this breed that I love. There are very few if any Lhasa Apsos in their country of origin, Tibet. There are not a lot of Lhasa Apsos being bred in the world, and I believe this wonderful breed needs to be preserved! But I only choose the best examples of the breed in my breeding program. I breed Lhasa’s that are great companions and are fun to live with.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include silver, black and tan, golden, and cream. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
