Meet the breeder

I'm Carolyn R., the breeder behind Menagerie Magnifique Pugs & Boston Terriers located in Ferrum, VA. We are a small, home raised program. All of our dogs are raised at my house, which is home to a variety of animals. Open air, green grass, and tons of space makes this our little Heaven on Earth, and we aim to raise the healthiest pups ever!

Q. & A. with Carolyn

  • Why did you start breeding?

My mother, a great inspiration for me, has raised dogs and horses for 50+ years, and I plan on doing the same. I aim to breed my pups as well as she did by raising healthy, happy, and well rounded dogs. I strive to prepare them as much as possible so they become the best family members, and be welcomed into your home.
  • What makes your program special?

All of my dogs are raised on a diet of premium AKC recommended, American made kibble and fresh cooked supplements. No outside kennels for these pups; they rule the house, the couch, and our hearts! We are not a “Kennel” - we are hobby breeders, plain and simple, doing this for the love of the breeds. Also, I am working towards specializing in the rarer coat colors for both breeds to bring greater diversity to our dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Pug puppies include black, fawn, and white. Boston Terrier puppies include black brindle and white, black and white, and brindle and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Carolyn

Carolyn has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 refundable deposit and between $1,400 - $3,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“The prices are based on rarity and uniqueness of color, with standard colors costing less. This is a good-faith placeholder to guarantee that the puppy of your choice is set aside in your name until the agreed upon time of pickup. Refunds aren’t taken lightly but I always take the best interests of the puppy to heart and if you feel you are not a good match, I am happy to take the puppy back.”

Contract & health guarantee

Carolyn may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. Carolyn was happy to explain how she was working with the pups and answer questions about the breed and about getting ready to take in a puppy. I had questions throughout the process, and Carolyn was eager to help. We were also able to go out and meet the pups before making the final decision.

Carolyn was terrific from start to finish. From the moment you speak with her, you can tell she is extremely passionate and truly cares about what she does. She was in constant communication with me throughout the entire process and always had me feeling at ease. We love our new fur ball so much, who is happy, healthy and extremely playful. Couldn't have asked for a better first breeder experience!

Carolyn was great! When we first spoke, I knew that she prioritized the puppies' needs and really cared for them. I adopted little Jet and he has been doing great with his big brother, Obi. Overall, a great experience and we love our little guy 😁

Carolyn was very responsive to me (and I asked lots of questions...frequently). She is knowledgeable and kind. She was very supportive throughout the process and is willing to be supportive after taking home the pup as well! So grateful for her!
