I'm Aaron S., the breeder behind Merit Breeds located in Whitehouse, OH. We are a small, in-home breeding program where we prioritize giving each dog and puppy the best care that we can. We cherish our dogs and enjoy sharing the love of this breed with other families! Our mission is to spread the joy of having a Shiba Inu family member in your home.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I came to realize in my area, I have never seen a Shiba Inu or knew anybody that owned one in this area. They are beloved breeds that I felt compelled to make more common. Since I already had two furry companions under my roof, I decided that I wanted to breed them so that one day I might see my neighbor walking their Shiba Inu down the sidewalk.

  • What makes your program special?

    All the puppies that I raise are raised like they are my family. They live and play in my house as if they are mine. I want the puppies to be comfortable and loving in your home just as they are in mine. I take health very seriously, so they routinely visit a vet clinic down the road from my house. They stay indoors with the exception of the vet visit as to minimize outdoor contagions.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include cream and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Aaron

Aaron has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Price

Puppy prices include a $200 non-refundable deposit and between $800 - $1,800 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“All of our puppies are ACA registered, their first round of vaccinations, and socialized. Deposits include us marking the puppy as sold, turning down other offers and guarantee that they will be ready for you. You will have updates about the puppy up till the day they are picked up.”

Contract & health guarantee

Aaron may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.
