I'm Milton D., the breeder behind Milton's Rottweilers located in Fredericksburg, VA. We strive to offer the complete Rottweiler, ensuring that it will make a loving, loyal, and obedient family companion. Our goal is to breed Rottweilers that are sound in health, mind, temperament, and structurally correct, with potential for show or work, while maintaining their important role as man’s best friend.
Q. & A. with Milton
Why did you start breeding?
My breeding journey started in childhood. Growing up, I loved watching dog shows and was fascinated by the beauty and strength of the Rottweiler. I got my first Rottweiler in the 3rd grade, which was an AMBOSS vom Konigssiek granddaughter. She made me feel loved and protected and I knew this was my forever breed. I also realized how much joy, loyalty, and love a well-bred dog can bring a family.
What makes your program special?
My program has a maximum of 3 litters per year, which allows the program to focus on a foundation of health, temperament, and breed standard. Each pairing is done with the goal of improving each generation. Puppies are raised in a loving home environment where they’re exposed to an array of stimuli. Health testing, early socialization, and lifetime breeder support are at the heart of my program.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black and rust, black and tan, and black and mahogany. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and guardian homes.

Great level
Milton's Rottweilers reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Rottweilers.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
DNA Disease Panel, Juvenile Laryngeal Paralysis & Polyneuropathy (JLPP)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
