I'm Tammy J., the breeder behind MistyWoods Labradors located in Alton, MO. We are a small show and hobby kennel located in a small country town in south-central Missouri near the Arkansas border. We strive to produce quality English Labrador Retrievers that meets breed standard set forth by LRC. We like to produce an all-purpose Labrador that fits everyone's needs.
Q. & A. with Tammy
Why did you start breeding?
My first Labrador, Belle, was a cute yellow puppy that stole my heart. She had fair hips and dysplastic elbows. She was spayed and was my loyal companion. She was a great dog! Her faithfulness and love forever endeared me to the Labrador breed. I was determined to produce the best Labradors I could when I finally started my breeding stock. I wanted a good quality companion that looked beautiful.
What makes your program special?
We strive to produce quality, all-purpose English Labrador Retrievers that fit everyone's needs. Our Labs can perform in conformation, obedience, rally, agility, dock diving, tracking, field trials, therapy/assistance, as well as just being a wonderful companion. I show my labradors in the conformation ring and other performance titles. They are bred to meet breed standard as set forth by the LRC.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black, chocolate, and yellow. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
