I'm Anna U., the breeder behind Mossy Mountain Aussies located in Daytona Beach, FL. *Normally in Tennessee, our CURRENT LITTER IS AVAILABLE ON LOCATION IN BARBERVILLE FLORIDA. I have moved from Tennessee to Florida temporarily, and of course my dogs go with me. So our current litter was born here in Florida.
Our family runs a couple farms near Newport in the Smokey Mountains of East Tennessee. Our dogs are busy most of the time and help with various jobs such as herding cows, helping catch goats or chickens, or simply just going hiking or boating with us. My main goal is to breed quality dogs that have wonderful personalities and work hard. All my dogs are AKC or ASDR registered, have clear panels for genetic testing, and OFA certification or at least OFA evaluation for hips and elbows. I don't have many dogs as I want to be able to spend a decent amount of time with each one... yet this is a fantastic dog and any breeding I do I want it to be towards the standard of the breed as much as possible. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us.
Q. & A. with Anna
Why did you start breeding?
Ever since I was little I was fascinated with this breed. Finally, at the end of 2020 I brought my first one home. I’ve been privileged to get my dogs from some great breeders who put time and effort into improving the confirmation of the dogs towards the standard of what they should be- hence better suited for the work Aussies were meant to do on farms but still keeping the brains & herd drive
What makes your program special?
I don't have many dogs, as I want to spend a decent amount of time with each one. Any puppies we have available will be on a very limited basis as we only have 1-2 litters a year. Excellent temperament, health, and confirmation are my goals.
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include blue merle, red merle, red, and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
