I'm BethAnn H., the breeder behind Mount Olympus Rottweilers located in New Haven, WI. All of our puppies are raised in our home. We strive to produce beautiful, healthy, athletic, and well-adjusted puppies that become loved additions to their new families. We are very selective about where we place our babies, and we only breed when we feel the resultant litter will be exceptional in every way.
We adhere to ALL genetic health testing: Hips, Elbows, Eyes, Heart (echo), and JLPP. We do not breed dogs that DO NOT PASS HEALTH CLEARANCES.
We actively show our Rottweilers, and have produced 2 All-Breed Best in Show Winners, the Top Producing Sire in 2016 & 2017, and more champions and working titled get than I can recall.
Q. & A. with BethAnn
Why did you start breeding?
I started at 20 years of age in 1987 with my first dog, and learned a ton with him. I then got certified in animal behavior and did rescue for the local club for 15 years because I love the breed. I bred my first litter in 1992, and had my first breeder/owner/handler Best in Show in 1997. I have bred over 38 champions in limited breeding (litter S), and bred the Top Producing Sire 2 years in a row.
What makes your program special?
I'm very knowledgeable on breeding and dog health. I attended Dr. Carmen Battaglia's Breeding Better Dogs seminar years ago. I research pedigrees, and use both phenotype and genotype to determine each breeding dog. I'm also extremely cognizant of health issues, and I only breed dogs that pass. I always research pedigrees on health factors when looking for breeding partners.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are black and mahogany. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
OFA/CHIC DNA Repository, Juvenile Laryngeal Paralysis & Polyneuropathy (JLPP)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
