I'm Amy P., the breeder behind Muddy Paw Aussies located in Warsaw, MO. We strive to produce high quality, healthy pups that meet breed standards. Although we have just had our first litter of Aussie pups this year (2019) we have bred small breed dogs in the past. We hope to have lots of fun exciting things happen in the future here at Muddy Paw Aussies.
Q. & A. with Amy
Why did you start breeding?
We fell in love with the Australian Shepards when we got our first Aussie. Quickly, we added more to our home and decided we wanted to breed the dogs we love so much. All of our dogs are our pets and are considered family.
What makes your program special?
Where we live no matter how dry it is we will have muddy paw prints tracking up our floors. All of our Aussies love to go to the creek on our property. They visit it a lot! They have all been water dogs. They love to play in the water! So, hence, the name Muddy Paw Aussies. It's very fitting for our Aussie story. Pups are raised in our home so they can be handled and played with on a daily basis. We use the puppy culture program and are always adding new learning and training activities in for our puppies.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Breeder-Reported Testing
Good level
Muddy Paw Aussies reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Australian Shepherds.
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
