Meet the breeder

I'm Carrie P., the breeder behind Mystic Moon located in Chaplin, CT. It is important to know I do not guarantee eye color!! All my puppies are bred with great temperament in mind. It is important to me to ensure each family has a perfectly healthy and well rounded pup. Pups come pre-socialized and parents health tested! Please apply with family on board first :).

Q. & A. with Carrie

  • Why did you start breeding?

It is important to me that I not only continue my own phenomenal bloodlines but that I am improving the breed with each litter and ensuring the well-being of these dogs for generations more to come. It is an honor to represent this breed and create opportunities for others to experience the same joy that I've found in raising these wonderful dogs.
  • What makes your program special?

My life revolves around my dogs and meeting their needs both socially and medically. I strive to bring you the healthiest, most well-rounded puppies. I have high expectations for my puppies and make sure to place each one in an enriching and loving home that will match their temperament and personality. I love what I do and truly want the very best for my puppies and their forever families.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Australian Shepherd puppies include black, red merle, blue merle, and red. Shetland Sheepdog puppies include sable merle and white, blue merle white and tan, white and sable, sable and white, black white and tan, and black and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Carrie was extremely responsive and made the entire process super easy. We are so in love with our sweet dog (7 months now). She has a great temperment and gets lots of compliments on her beautiful coat and blue eyes.

First off I want to start by saying Carrie was an amazing breeder! She really does take pride in her puppies and you can tell she cares about what she does!! She kept us updated from the time mama Maggie was pregnant all the way until we picked up!! We even got updates while the litter was being born to keep us updated!! As well as vet checks and videos. We picked out a beautiful blue Merle female and her name is myla! She is a perfect edition to our family and a very smart girl! In the 1 week we’ve had her she already has learned, sit, paw, here, stay, and her name! I could not have asked for a better experience when getting a puppy!

We changed his name to Trunkski. He’s gotten bigger. We’re still trying to house train him, might take a while. Overall he’s doing great, liking the yard space, like running with the kids.

Carrie is an excellent choice of breeder if your looking for an Australian shepherd. She was always very quick to communicate and always kept you updated. The dogs she breeds are healthy and beautiful I have had no physical or mental problems with my girl coco. Carrie takes all the right precautions with getting her pups all the correct medical treatment they need before there forever home and she provides you with all the paperwork you need! I am so happy I found Carrie and how nice and welcoming she was to let me into her home and meet her dogs and see my puppy before the pick up date. She breeds dogs with dogs excellent temperament sweet, loving, smart and just the right amount of crazy to keep you laughing all day.
