I'm Betsy S., the breeder behind Nanny Bugs Pups located in Salisbury, NC. We offer quality, family-raised Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppies, socialized with small children. Both parents are DNA tested through Embark for Breeders. Puppies receive age-appropriate vaccinations, de-worming, and a veterinary health check before going home.

Why did you start breeding?
Our journey into breeding began with a lifelong love for Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. We took our time, saved carefully, and invested in two well-bred Cavaliers because quality and temperament truly matter to us. After welcoming them into our family, we were inspired by their sweet personalities and loving nature. Wanting to share these wonderful qualities with other families, we thoughtfully decided to offer their beautiful puppies to homes seeking affectionate, family-friendly companions.
What makes your program special?
What makes our breeding program special is the care and intention behind it. Our Cavaliers are family members first and are raised in our home alongside children, where they receive daily handling, love, and early socialization. We intentionally chose well-bred parents and completed Embark Breeder DNA testing to better understand their genetics. As a small, first-time breeding program, we focus on quality over quantity and are deeply committed to raising healthy, well-adjusted puppies and supporting families every step of the way.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include blenheim and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

Getting a puppy from Betsy

Betsy has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Betsy partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $3,000 - $3,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

"Our puppies are priced between $3,500 and $4,000, reflecting the quality of care, responsible breeding, and early socialization they receive. Each puppy goes home with age-appropriate first vaccinations, routine de-worming, and AKC registration. Additional AKC breeding rights will be available for an additional $500. We require a nonrefundable $500 deposit to secure your puppy."

Betsy may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. About Lucy
Meet Lucy — our calm, mild-mannered sweetheart. She’s the kind of girl who makes you instantly exhale the moment she settles in next to you. Lucy is affectionate without being demanding, and she absolutely loves cuddling and quiet closeness with her people. Lucy adores being with Butch, but she also has a lovely, balanced personality—she enjoys her one-on-one time and is happiest when she can curl up with just her human for some peaceful bonding. She’s gentle, attentive, and has an easygoing nature that fits beautifully into a family home. As a first-time mom, Lucy has truly exceeded every expectation. She has proven to be an exceptional mama, naturally nurturing and patient, and she’s been wonderful with her puppies from the very beginning. Her steady temperament and loving care have made her first litter a joy to raise.
