We are passionate about preparing all of our puppies to excel in their forever homes.
Q. & A. with Jessica
Why did you start breeding?
I wanted to help preserve the breed I love; contribute only healthy and stable animals while safeguarding the workability of the true Dogo Argentino.
What makes your program special?
I am a proud breeder of Dogo Argentinos. My focus is temperament and the overall mental and physical health of my puppies. I love placing happy, healthy puppies with loving, active families. I prefer to place in working or hunting homes but am open to and have placed pups in active pet homes.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Hel has a high work/hunting drive but has a good on/off switch. Can hang out or run all day. Very people friendly. Velcro dog but when hunting does range out. Smart and wants to please her people.
Northern Legacy Dogos reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Dogo Argentinos.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Brucellosis, Congenital Deafness (BAER, registered with OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Full Embark Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
