Q. & A. with Jennifer
Why did you start breeding?
Once we started training and showing it quickly became our passion. Our biggest goal now, is to breed our own champion that excels in a variety of fields. A true, perfectly rounded Rottweiler.
What makes your program special?
At Odyssey, all our dogs are raised in our home, as part of our family. They are fully incorporated into our lives in public, on the farm, at work, in a class or on the couch. They are continuously socialized to as many environments as possible.
It is our belief that having a good recipe of genetics, temperament, health clearances and socialization is what makes all the difference in our puppies.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black and rust and black and mahogany. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
