Meet the breeder

I'm Kristen F., the breeder behind One Big Cavy Family located in Grantsville, MD. Raised in our home under our direct care. Puppies are AKC registered, vet checked, and well socialized and ready for your home. The goal we set and which I believe is still the most important, is to produce healthy puppies that make well-rounded sweet adult dogs.

Q. & A. with Kristen

  • Why did you start breeding?

My husband and I have bred dogs for many years. He grew up with labs and corgis and we began raising cavaliers shortly after we were married in 2008. My husband and I fell in love with this breed as our own pet first and then decided to spread the love using our experience as breeders. I have learned so much over the past fifteen years from my husband and his family.
  • What makes your program special?

We raise our puppies in our home. And we do not have many litters each year. At most, we only have two breeding females at a time. If it were not for our kids crowding our bed at times already all three of our Cavies would probably sleep with us. Our children helped to socialize the puppies so they come to you very well-loved already.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are blenheim. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
